Chapultepec Castle

History, Chapultepec primera sección

The National Museum of History (also known as Castillo de Chapultepec), is located at the top of the Bosque de Chapultepec, in Mexico City, within the only castle you can find in the country. This museum is divided into 2 sections, in the first, along its 15 rooms dedicated to the history of the country, you can find very complete information, illustrated with paintings, sculptures and objects belonging to the different stages that are presented. The second section is known with the Alcazar, in it you can see the old rooms of Maximiliano and Carlota, furnished and decorated as they were when they lived in this room. In your visit to the museum you will have the opportunity to tour the castle gardens and admire the beautiful views of the city.

For you to enjoy better we leave some recommendations:

  • Arriving at the castle involves about a kilometer of hiking, so we recommend that you prepare, with comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate to the weather.

  • In the control of access you will retain bulky bulks and objects like tripies, sticks "selfie" or drinks and food.

  • On Sundays you will almost certainly find many people in the line at the entrance so you will have to spend around 25 minutes to get access.
