A tour through the 'cantinas' of the Historic center of Mexico City: Salón Madrid, el Bar Ópera y el Gallo de Oro
In the second half of the XIX century, some canteens in Mexico City were, besides centers of alcoholic drunkenness, a haven for poets, musicians and dreamers. Canteens such as the "Gallo de Oro", the Bach and Valenciana Salon, acquired fame as art and pleasure venues.
In this original tour, we invite you to walk through the historic center, appreciating its squares and stately homes, and visiting canteens such as the Salón Madrid, Opera Bar and the Gallo de Oro, in which we will remember the days of bohemia of essential characters of the history of our city, such as Guillermo Prieto, Manuel Acuña, Artemio del Valle Arizpe and Juan de Dios Peza, from whom we will know some of his urban chronicles and his passionate poems.
